Basic Apple Pie
Description
Basic apple pie recipe.
Ingredients
- 6 - 8 apples, peeled and cored
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 4 tbsp flour
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 pie crusts (9-inch)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Slice and pare apples.
- Combine dry ingredients in a bowl.
- Place 1/3rd of apples into bottom pie crust, and coat with a layer of 1/3rd of the dry mixture.
- Repeat step 4, until all apples and dry mixture are used.
- Dot the edges of the pie crust, and cover with second pie crust. Cut 4 small slits into top crust.
- Bake for 50 minutes.
Notes
- Flour is essential in the dry mixture, as it eliminates water and creates gooey nature of.
- Reduce the sugar, and up the amount of flour.
