Description

Basic apple pie recipe.

Ingredients

  • 6 - 8 apples, peeled and cored
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 4 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 pie crusts (9-inch)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Slice and pare apples.
  3. Combine dry ingredients in a bowl.
  4. Place 1/3rd of apples into bottom pie crust, and coat with a layer of 1/3rd of the dry mixture.
  5. Repeat step 4, until all apples and dry mixture are used.
  6. Dot the edges of the pie crust, and cover with second pie crust. Cut 4 small slits into top crust.
  7. Bake for 50 minutes.

Notes

  • Flour is essential in the dry mixture, as it eliminates water and creates gooey nature of.
  • Reduce the sugar, and up the amount of flour.
